Date of Birth: July 20th 1973 in rural town of Pennsylvania's Appalachian Mountains. Enjoyed nature, hunting, and fishing. His father owned a successful race team, fielding modified cars for teams such as of Brett Bodine, Donald "Satch" Worley, Jimmy Spencer and Jerry Cook. L.W. developed his own passion for racing.
LW begun his racing career in the early 90’s, on the short tracks driving late models throughout Pennsylvania and New York. In 1991, he captured rookie-of-the-year honors at Woodhull Speedway. In 1992, he took the convent track championship at Dundee Speedway in New York and also received 13 victories at various racetracks.
in 1993 - 1994, L.W. Miller ran at the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA)on a limited schedule. With his No. 70 Miller Racing machine in 1993, and the No. 5 in 1994, Miller was a favorite. At this time he also collected three pole positions and a track record at Toledo Speedway, home track of what is now the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
In late 1994 - 1995, LW was with Todd Bodine and Group III Racing. He connected with excellent sponsors, and then continued in 1996 under the Miller Racing banner in the NASCAR Busch Series. LW was in the NASCAR Busch garage in 1997 and 1998, as car chief for Shoemaker Racing, and legendary driver Dick Trickle.
LW won an astounding victory from Martinsville Speedway in 2002 in the Featherlite Modified Series: Miller out-battled a strong field, and mangled other machines to take his lone victory on the circuit.
In 2003, LW had a very busy, successful year.He competed in the S.M.A.R.T tour. The series ran 12 races that year. Miller won six victories and five pole positions. He also ran in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in the No. 28 Ground Zero NYFD Racing Chevrolet for owner Jim Rosenblum.
In 2004, LW returned to the ARCA RE/MAX Series, as driver and crew chief. LW called the shots for rising star Jerick Johnson at Nashville and Kansas. L.W. competed in the season finale at South Boston speedway, driving the No. 19 Chevrolet from Keith Murt’s stable. He was fast off the hauler, to practice, to qualifying, and finished in the top five.
